Upgrading our 2024 Husqvarna TE300
It’s rare to buy any vehicle with an engine and not feel the need to customize it and make it just the way you like it. As capable and dependable as a stock Husqvarna TE300 is, we felt the need to make some mods to the ergonomics, handling and trail readiness to get the bike where we wanted it to be. Our adjustments to the bike are certainly not meant for or necessary for everyone but here’s what we did to make it our own.

Dunlop Mousse Inserts for the Tires
Getting a flat is a quick way to end your day and give yourself a massive headache as you try to limp your bike back to your staging area. Upgrading to a mousse tire insert can give you confidence in going over some of the nastiest terrain and knowing you won’t have to worry about losing tire pressure. Speaking of tire pressure, running a mousse means you don’t have to check that anymore as they replace your inner tube entirely.
Baja Designs XL Pro Headlight
One of our favorite aspects of having an upgraded headlight is that we can extend our riding season and get out during those summer months when it’s way too spicy to ride during the day. With a brightness of 4,095 raw lumens, this headlight will help illuminate the darkest of nights and make it way more attractive to keep rolling when the sun goes down. Aside from the stellar performance, we love Baja Designs product because they sell many full kits that are plug and play so messing with the electricals during install is not a daunting task.
Seat Concepts Low Seat
A lowered seat is one of the most cost effective, easiest and rewarding upgrades you can make to a dirt bike. In most cases, the stock machine is set up for someone who is close to 6’ tall which makes that a very minute part of the female riding community. By investing in a lower seat, you make all of the low-speed moments you will encounter on the trail more manageable.
P3 Racing Exhaust Pipe Guard
Anyone who has laid their bike over, especially a 2-stroke, will tell you that dinging the exhaust is a pretty easy thing to do. The wall thickness on exhaust pipes is just not that thick which makes it very susceptible to crushing if it sustains an impact. In most cases, a few small dings won’t end your day but they will eventually catch up to you as your bike is not designed to run correctly while exhaust gases are being impeded by a partially collapsed pipe. Do yourself a favor and buy an easy to install pipe guard from P3 and cross that worry off your list.
REP Suspension Revalve/Spring/Lower
We’ve been having the folks at REP work on our suspension for over 5 years now and we’ve never been happier. The founder, Mark Johnson, was an in-house WP suspension wizard at Red Bull KTM for 10 years with multiple championships under his technical expertise. To say they know their stuff is an understatement.
Whenever we get a bike, it rarely gets ridden before the it gets new springs matched to the appropriate rider weight, a revalve for the terrain we’ll be riding most and our skill level. It’s also pretty standard to get the bike lowered an 1” so it’s easier to touch the ground.
Cycra CRM Pro Bend Full Wrap Handguards
We love a well thought out product and give two thumbs up in that regard to the folks at Cycra. Their CRM Pro Bend handguards are easy to mount to a variety of motorcycles and they are engineered in a way to not interfere with your cables once mounted. The CRM, Center Reach Mounts, aspect of the set up ties the guards to your handlebar risers. This is an excellent design to help keep your handguards from rotating during an impact.
Mainline Design Custom Graphics
There's no greater upgrade that can help you look fast even if you are going slow than a set of custom graphics for your moto. Our dear friend, Austin Fitzgerald, started the company from his garage and we are thrilled to support his latest endeavor.
Skidplate & Swingarm Protectors
Protecting your engine from rock and log impacts is a crucial step in making sure you don’t have a mechanical failure end your day on the trail. We like the fit and finish of the Molecule Motorsports skid plates for this task. Made of UHMW plastic, these units help you to glide over obstacles rather than hang up on them (like aluminum). They are also very resistant to cracking and don’t add a lot of extra weight.
We also run swingarm protectors that help keep from getting gouges if/when you lay it down in a rocky section.
Enduro Engineering Spark Arrestor
Many riding areas across the US require a spark arrestor to be on the bike regardless of what sticker or time of the year it may be. Enduro Engineering makes a nice billet version for a plethora of bikes that installs by replacing the stock end cap. In most cases, these help the engine breathe better and have an option to remove the spark screen for race applications.
Brake Pedal Tip Extension
Clean Speed makes a whole bunch of versions of this product. For us, we use the extension that actually moves the tip back towards the foot peg. This is especially helpful for females who have much smaller feet than their male counterparts.
Mosko Moto Handlebar Bag
We like a convenient place to stash our snacks, sunscreen, phone, etc. Mosko makes a variety of universal fit options and we find their Gnat Handlebar Bag to work well for the TE300.
Hondo Garage Phone Mount
If you are looking for a well thought out universal mount for your phone, look no further. Hondo’s mount does not require any special cases and is fairly simple to attach and remove your phone from the bike. We always suggest to use a tether when running a handlebar phone mount because anything can and does happen and losing a phone is the worst!
Warp 9 Shortened Kickstand
When you lower the bike and soften the suspension, it can often throw off how your bike sits on the kickstand (if applicable.) Warp 9 makes an adjustable version to you can keep full functionality.
